Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Uncovered Carbon API, portal and website (“the service”). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them.

The service

Uncovered Carbon provides grid carbon-intensity data for Australia, New Zealand and Great Britain via an HTTP API, with an account portal for managing access. Data is provided as-is; the methodology page describes exactly what the numbers are, their limitations, and the uses they are not fit for — including statutory scope-2 reporting.

Your account

You are responsible for your API keys and for activity under them. Keep keys secret; revoke and replace any key you believe is exposed. One person or company per account.

Trials and plans

New accounts start a 14-day free trial. When a trial ends without an upgrade, API access pauses; your account and data remain. Paid plans are billed monthly in USD; plan limits (calls, rate) are enforced by the service and described on the pricing page.

Acceptable use

Don’t: resell or redistribute raw API access; misrepresent derived figures as statutory emission factors; attempt to disrupt the service or other customers; use the service in breach of applicable law. We may suspend accounts that do.

Availability and support

The service is provided without an uptime guarantee during the trial and on the Starter plan. Planned SLAs for higher tiers will be stated on the pricing page when available. Support: sales@uncoveredcarbon.com.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” without warranties, and our total liability for any claim is capped at the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under New Zealand law.

Changes and termination

We may update these terms; material changes will be notified by email to account holders with reasonable notice. You may close your account at any time. We may terminate accounts for breach of these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
